The Brazilian rosewood bookmatching veneer top has a deep, dark brown colour with almost black grain. The “flaming” effect in the wood in your photo is very striking, which indicates high-quality timber. It has a lightstained rim which is constructed from various segments of solid rosewood, cut at a beautiful 45-degree angle and joined together in a circle. This served not only as a decorative feature, but also protected the delicate edges of the thin veneer from knocks and chipping
The tapered legs are attached to the inside of this frame using metal corner brackets. These metal plates are secured with screws allowing the legs to be easily dismantled for transport
Beneath the round tabletop is a square subtly curved wooden frame This frame gives the table its strength and serves as a connecting point between the top and the legs
The gentle curve follows the rounded line of the tabletop, giving the table a softer, more organic appearance when viewed from the side.
Good vintage condition, note that an old alterationso the table has been restored at some point (see close-up)
