Silkscreen print of ‘Tridim-Kek’ by Victor Vasalery

€ 300

The work Tridim-Kek is a magnificent example of his iconic Op Art style, in which he uses axonometric perspectives and a meticulous blue colour gradient to create a powerful three-dimensional illusion of floating, interlocking cubes
‘Tridim’ refers to three-dimensionality and ‘Kék’ simply means ‘blue’ in Hungarian
Victor Vasalery (1906–1997) was a Hungarian-French artist recognised worldwide as the founder and ‘father’ of Op Art (optical art)
The passe-partout is a soft colour and creates a calm ‘breathing space’ between the busy, blue artwork and the aluminium frame. This makes the optical illusion and the deep blue colours stand out even more powerfully
At the bottom centre is a sleek, grey nameplate bearing the inscription ‘Vasarely’
