This tapestry originates from an official mid-1970s collaboration between the estate of Bernard Buffet and the historic French textile manufacturer DMC (Dollfus-Mieg & Compagnie)
DMC commercialized these pieces as premium needlepoint/tapestry kits. They allowed craftspeople to recreate Buffet’s distinct, razor-sharp lines and melancholic post-war color palette using high-quality long-stitch wool yarn on pre-printed canvas
