Coat Rack ‘Les Arcs Miribel’ by Charlotte Perriand
325 €
Neoclassical pedestal bassin, carved out of veined alabaster, its design features characteristic double-volute handles and a classic bead molding along the rim
On the rim of the bowl are four serpents, whose tails extend onto the underside of the basin. On the underside, you can also see a depiction of the god Dionysus. This is a clear reference to the wine cups of antiquity. In the 19th century, they were used as bird baths or as centrepieces. Nowadays, they are often used as luxury trinket dishes.
Only slight signs of wear consistent with age and use
