The top is made from a single plank of solid wood, probably walnut or oak
The uneven surface and tool marks suggest it was hand-planed

The table has a trestle base, 2 shaped end supports connected by curved wrought-iron stretchers  These add rigidity while showing the blacksmith’s craftsmanship.
